Almost night? Not yet. Soon. Almost. Night.

Wisp the moth loves the hush and the dark — and her red friend, Angel One, a helicopter parked and still on the rooftop, her nose as warm as toast.

While the sky is still gold, Wisp lands on that nose. 'Almost night?' The nose stays dark. Not yet. So she hops in a long shadow, taps the cool round glass, and zigzags along a still blade, asking again and again. Rose sky, then plum, then deep blue. One small star. One slow circle around her friend. Then down to the red nose, wings tucked, feelers tucked. Blink — warm and gold. 'Night,' whispers Wisp. Good night.

Almost Night? is a gentle bedtime picture book about waiting for dark with a quiet friend. Soft watercolor washes deepen page by page, so the story itself helps little ones wind down.

A repeated 'Almost night?' refrain that softens toward sleep
A tiny moth's hop, tap, and flutter toddlers can feel
Soft watercolor gold-to-blue dusk with a parked helicopter friend
One star, two warm gold blinks, and a hush at lights-out
