The opening scene is also the plays most famous.</p><p><strong>Serious Money</strong> The City has changed since the Big Bang of 1986 and the sudden deregulation of the financial markets. The Square Mile has been invaded by white knights and corporate raiders. And ambitious young traders, like sister and brother Scilla and Jake Todd, are living the high life. Hot-shot dealer Billy Corman is plotting to take over the unsuspecting company Albion, aided and abetted by this new breed of yuppie traders. But his plans go awry when trader Jake Todd is found dead and the Department of Trade and Industry is brought in to investigate. Could Jakes death be linked to his insider dealing?</p><p><strong>The Skriker</strong> In a broken world, two sisters Lily and Josie meet an extraordinary creature. The Skriker is a shapeshifter, an ancient fairy. She can be an old woman, a child, a man, a death portent. She has come from the Underworld to pursue seduce and entrap them, through time and space, through this world and her own. Shes part prophet of a disturbing future, part refugee stepping out of a distorted, troubling present.</p><p><strong>Light Shining in Buckinghamshire</strong> First performed in 1976, Light Shining in Buckinghamshire focuses on the millennial movements that erupted during the English civil war in the 1640s</p><p><strong>Ants</strong> Young Tim, who is affected by his parents domestic war, finds solace in watching an ant colony, but is soon pushed to breaking point.</p><p><strong>Identical Twins</strong> Outwardly, Teddy and Clive look alike and they both share a similar upbringing -<br />but, however identical they appear, they possess different identities as individuals. As different as they try to be there are certain things in which they cannot help but be the same.</p><p><strong>Abortive</strong> A heterosexual couple in bed discuss how the womans recent abortion has impacted them.</p><p><strong>Not Not Not Not Not Enough Oxygen</strong> In a dystopian future where violence and pollution makes going outside unsafe, two residents of a London tower block form a relationship and discuss the past they left behind.</p><p><strong>Schrebers Nervous Illness</strong> An adaptation of Daniel Paul Schrebers <em>Memoirs of My Nervous Illness</em>, which follows one mans experience of being institutionalised due to his schizophrenia.</p><p><strong>Perfect Happiness</strong> A wry look at a ten-year-old marriage and at the plight of the working girl.</p><p><strong>Henrys Past</strong> Alice and her family are visiting Henry, whose wife divorced him for the man Henry attacked and left needing to use a wheelchair.</p>...(*_*)9781529188059_<p><strong>A collection of dramatisations and original radio plays by the award-winning playwright - plus bonus documentary</strong></p><p>Caryl Churchill is one of Britains most innovative and influential dramatists.
