India's Chandrayaan space program is one of the few in the world dedicated to the exploration of our Moon. Every mission of the program has displayed a unique slice of creativity in its execution. This novella-sized book Crafty Moon-craft independently captures and archives Chandrayaan's crux by highlighting unique contributions of each of the three Chandrayaans to date.

The joint Indo-US discovery of water on the Moon by ISRO's Chandrayaan 1 satellite in 2009 catalyzed a global rush to the Moon. That India achieved such impact on its debut planetary mission inspired people worldwide, including myself. I was in school at the time, fascinated by all things space and science. Chandrayaan 1 catapulted my imagination of the international potential of space exploration. 14 years later as a space writer, I watched Chandrayaan 3 launch from the Sriharikota island and also covered its lunar landing from ISRO. My multi-year coverage of Chandrayaan 2 & 3 over on my blog & website 'jatan(dot)space' has drawn from multiple lunar and space experts. With this book, readers worldwide can get insights into India's unique lunar program. I hope you feel as curious about the crafty Chandra-yaans as much as I did when learning the facts inside for the first time.
