A diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes can bring fear, confusion and questions that extend far beyond a blood test.

In Diabetes Doesn't Own Me, Mumbai-based entrepreneur Vihang Rahul VASA shares fifteen years of learning to live with the condition while continuing to work, travel, nurture relationships and enjoy life. With candour and warmth, he reflects on changing familiar habits, understanding his health, working with his doctors and finding support in the people closest to him.

Across 61 illustrated chapters, the book explores the everyday questions that accompany diabetes: understanding tests and monitoring, managing medicines with medical guidance, making food and movement part of daily life, preparing for travel, recognising complications and looking after emotional wellbeing. It also considers the connections between diabetes, liver health and other conditions through the author's personal experience.

Rooted in life in India, this book offers companionship and practical perspective for adults living with Type 2 Diabetes, as well as their families and caregivers. Readers can follow Vihang's journey from the beginning or turn to the chapters most relevant to their own lives.

His message is hopeful and personal: diabetes deserves attention and care, but it need not define who you are.

This book is offered free for personal, non-commercial educational use. It shares lived experience and general information, not individual medical advice. Treatment decisions should always be made with your treating doctor.
