The water is wonderful — and it deserves respect. Emergency Explorers: Splash Safe! helps kids ages 5–10 learn how to swim smart and stay safe around pools, lakes, rivers, and boats.

Cousins Maya and Jordan are back — this time with their swim bags. Through short stories, clear lessons, and hands-on activities, young readers learn the Water Watcher Rule (no watcher, no swimming), how a life jacket should really fit, pool rules and the buddy system, why lakes are not pools and rivers move even when they look calm, and how to be boat smart. The centerpiece chapter teaches the rescue rule every kid should know: Reach, Throw — Don't Go! Shout for a grown-up, reach with something long, throw something that floats — and never jump in after someone.

Inside this book, kids will learn:
