They are not coming. They are already here.

When the UK threat level is raised to Severe, Detective Chief Inspector Jason Gilbert, known as 'the Bull,' is sent to the seaside town of Stockwood-on-Sea, where a dormant terror cell has woken up.

He warns that an armed attack is coming. He is right about almost everything, except where it will land. On a dark moorland lane, two young officers stop a car that doesn't fit, and what follows sets off a year-long campaign of fear: a mother forced into a police station wearing a bomb vest, a fuel tanker driven into a rush-hour tunnel, and a bridge torn apart in daylight.

As Jason hunts the men responsible, he realises someone on his own side knew more than they told him. The trail leads back to an old friendship and a man who vanished without a trace years ago.

Some people serve their country in uniform. Others serve it by disappearing completely.

Written by a retired British police officer and inspired by real events, Hiding in Plain Sight is a gripping thriller about the ordinary people who stand between us and catastrophe, and the ghosts in the shadows whose names we will never know.
