Every story has a beginning — and this is where the legend of King Vikramaditya and the clever Vetaal begins!

Meet Vikramaditya, the bravest and kindest king of ancient India. One day, a mysterious holy man starts visiting the palace with a gift of fruit — and hidden inside one fruit is a priceless sparkling jewel! When the king follows the holy man to a dark, whispering forest at night, he finds a strange, silent figure hanging from an old tree... the Vetaal!

The Vetaal sets the king a challenge: carry him all the way back without saying a single word. But the Vetaal loves stories and riddles, and every tale he tells ends with a puzzling question the king simply cannot resist answering!

Told by a loving Grandma to her curious grandchildren, this beautifully illustrated introduction opens the door to 25 magical tales of wit, wisdom, and adventure. Perfect for young readers who love riddles, legends, and heroes — the great game of wits is about to begin. Can you solve the Vetaal's riddles before the king does?
