Jake has solved ten cases, and his treehouse office is ready for number eleven — but this case finds him first.

Somebody is leaving secret notes pinned to his treehouse door, inviting him to join the Secret Treehouse Club, a club Jake never joined and never heard of. Each note is signed only 'A Friend,' and each one carries a tiny hand-painted blue star.

With Milo and Ben beside him, and Scout's nose leading the way, Jake follows the clues: thick drawing paper, a smudge of blue paint, small footprints in the mud by the creek, a blue feather, and a tiny wooden box hidden in the hollow oak. The trail leads to someone nobody expected — a shy new girl in town who was too nervous to ask to join in, so she invented a club to invite Jake to instead.

Instead of a scolding, she gets a welcome. The Secret Treehouse Club becomes real, with one simple rule at its heart: everybody is welcome. A gentle mystery about friendship, courage, and how asking for a friend is braver than a secret note.
