The night Dante Astra was born in the valley of El Hoyo, Orocovis, every star above Puerto Rico went out for seven seconds — and something in the dark took notice.

Twenty years later, the dark gods move to bury the light before it learns to stand. First comes Orion's herald and the Behemoth. Then the Mother of Teeth, whose war for her children teaches Dante what his strength is for. Then the Hollow Saint, who weaponizes mercy itself. And finally the Captain — the finest killer the dark gods ever made, who crossed the universe to kill one boy personally, plants his greatshield in the earth, and fights fair.

Dante's answer becomes the saga's law: shield first, mercy always. 'Porque todavía puedes escoger.'

Then the war widens: the Five Thrones of Ruin, a drowned colossus, a tithe paid in names, a prince who eats stars — and Capry, a witness who remembers another world, and what winning did to it.
