In Santa's Village lives a little reindeer called Spotty. Her coat is honey-colored, and a large white spot around one eye sets her apart from the others. She is kind and affectionate, but sometimes the other reindeer calves laugh at her spot, not realizing they hurt her.

“I wish I were like everyone else,” she sighs one evening, looking up at the sky. And when the Village falls asleep, she slips away into the snowy forest without looking back.

In the morning, her mother cannot find her. Elves and reindeer search everywhere, but the forest is wide, and every trail looks the same. So Santa asks his friend Leo for help, and a golden light crosses the sky to fetch him: Sleepy Little Star.

Leo and Sleepy Little Star fly over the forest until they see her, small and alone under a great fir tree. Leo sits beside her in the snow and tells her that everyone at the Village is worried, and that they are looking for her because they love her.

When Spotty comes home, her mother holds her tight, the other reindeer say sorry, and Santa throws a big party. Because even though we are not all the same, everyone deserves to be loved just as they are.

A story about friendship and about accepting what makes us different, with warm watercolor illustrations. For children aged 3 to 5.
