Something very strange happens in Santa's Village: one evening every star in the sky falls asleep, and the night turns dark and silent. Nobody knows what to do.

The old Wise Elf leafs through his ancient books and finds the answer. The stars haven't gone out — they have only fallen asleep. To wake them, someone kind and brave is needed, and Santa already knows who to think of.

An elf messenger crosses the night by sleigh and knocks at Leo's door. Leo opens it, still in his pajamas. Flying that high is a little frightening, but he thinks of all the children waiting for Christmas, takes a deep breath, and goes. One by one, with a few magic words, the stars open their eyes again.

The last one, though, will not hear of it. She is fast asleep on a soft cloud and only wants to keep sleeping. Leo doesn't give up. He sits down beside her, tells her about the children, the elves, and Santa Claus, and says the thing that matters most: “Your light is important too.”

A story about a fear you walk through, and about how every small light counts, with warm watercolor illustrations and a rhyme children learn to say along. For children aged 3 to 5.
