Mr. Charles Keynsham—handsome, rich, and the heir to a viscountcy—only wants to be left alone... and to drown his sorrows with a glass of ale or two. But when he sees a lady in trouble, he can't possibly leave her to fend for herself. Not on the outskirts of Whitechapel—and not when she so clearly doesn't know her way around London... despite her insistence that she does.

A desperate young lady seizes her only chance to run away from home—and arrives in London intending to stay just long enough to catch the next coach in her long journey. But when she discovers that she's been pick-pocketed and is now penniless, she must accept Mr. Keynsham's help, even though she wants nothing to do with him.

As mayhem ensues, their mutual attraction grows… and Keynsham begins to wonder whether the life he has planned is really the life that he wants.

This is the prequel novella to Lord Something, book three of the Unexpected Heirs series. It's sweet, clean and the happy ending doesn't come until the main book.
