A dying 1911 grand piano, a log lodge on Tamarack Lake, and two days to make it sing before her father's birthday party on Saturday. Odessa Koski is twenty-six, a piano technician with her own shop, and she has heard worse pianos. Not many.

The lodge belongs to Rhys Talmadge. He is fifty-one, a retired ore boat captain, and her father's best friend. He paid her invoice in full a week early, and he cannot hear that middle C is a quarter tone flat. On the dock that first night he tells her he has wanted her for a year and has done nothing about it.

Odessa decides what happens next, and she puts it in writing on the back of a piano service card, the same card she leaves inside every instrument she fixes. On Saturday the mail boat brings the whole lake to the party, her father included, and Rhys refuses to lie to his oldest friend.

My Dad's Best Friend Wanted Me is a high heat, consensual older man forbidden romance with a steady hero, a heroine who sets every term, and a happy ending. It is Book 1 in the Dad's Best Friend series, and it can be read as a standalone. For adult readers 18+.
