As well as writing, he enjoys hobbies that include model railroading, gardening, and playing the saxophone. Ron and his wife, Brenda, are retired and enjoy an active lifestyle in Illinois while also taking time to travel the country. Rons past recognitions and accomplishments include being named in the 1978 volume of Outstanding Young Men of America, a feature in the 1995 anthology of poetry The Garden of Life, and a publication in 2013s Todays Best Poets.
