The sun is going down, and the gold apples are going to sleep. But Dot is wide awake.

Dot is the smallest apple in the big brown box, and she has never, ever seen the moon. Is it pink? Is it blue? With a little help from her friend Bram the kitchen mouse, she wobbles over the flap, rolls past the paper towels and the sink, and climbs a heap of cookbooks to the window to wait for the moon to rise.

One star, two stars, three stars, four... Dot's eyes grow heavy, and then up comes the moon, round and bright and gold, just like her. Now it is time to roll back home, where every apple in the box is shining like a little gold moon.

Roll Home, Little Apple is a soft, rhyming bedtime picture book for toddlers. The words grow quieter page by page, so little listeners wind down along with Dot.

A rolling refrain toddlers can say along with you
A star-counting page made for slowing down
A gentle friendship between a small apple and a kind mouse
Soft watercolor art of a cozy kitchen, a purple sky and a big gold moon
A quiet ending made for the last book of the night

For ages 2 to 5.
