Twenty-seven years ago, she let him sail away without an answer. This Christmas, someone is determined to keep them apart.

At forty-eight, Miss Keziah Quennell has a remedy for almost everything. She keeps the stillroom at Sea Lavender House, doses half the parish, and corrects the vicar's Latin. She has long since stopped expecting a courtship of her own.

But she has never forgotten the question Elias Vowles asked her on the sea wall in 1791. Her father had forbidden the match. Keziah said nothing.

By morning, Elias was gone.

Now Captain Vowles has come home: weathered, grizzled, and newly cleared of the wreck the island blamed on him. His cottage stands across the frozen marsh, its lit window facing hers. The distance is small enough to walk. The years between them are another matter.

The parish finds their renewed acquaintance highly entertaining. Keziah's brother finds nothing amusing about the man whose sworn testimony nearly sent him to the gallows in 1806.

Then unsigned letters begin arriving at the vicarage.

Someone is watching their hesitant courtship—and knows exactly when to strike.

As Advent snow closes around Sea Lavender House, every small kindness becomes something to gossip over, every step towards trust an opportunity for another accusation. Keziah has spent a lifetime caring for other people. Elias has waited long enough for an answer.

But before they can make a future together, they must discover who is so determined to deny them one—and whether they can face the past without letting it decide for them again.

Rosewater and Sea Lavender is a warm, witty Regency romance about a resourceful stillroom keeper, a weathered sea captain, and a love twenty-seven years late. Book Seven of The Sea Lavender Saga can be enjoyed on its own.

A clean and wholesome romance with a gentle mystery, a snowy Christmas setting, no explicit content, and a happy ending assured.
