This cozy and inventive debut is perfect for fans of Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club and Ellery Adams’ The Secret, Book and Scone Society.
A group of retired spies is forced back into action when a body turns up on their Icelandic holiday.
nMaurice Sterne, a retired MI6 officer, has booked a trip to Iceland with the Secret Intelligence Service pensioners club. A week of idyllic glaciers, violent volcanoes, and walks gentle enough for old hips and rusty knees is exactly the break he needs.
nBut the relaxing trip heads wildly off-trail when a guest is discovered dead in the group’s Reykjavik hotel.
nSuspecting the guest may have been murdered, Maurice, his former deputy Carol Blanchard, retired MI6 scientist Joel Graves, once-glamorous ex-agent Barbara Sainz, and former Scots Guard Gareth Price investigate the tourist’s activities. As they retrace the dead man’s footsteps and scrutinize their fellow travelers, the group uncovers a startling link to the past and a nefarious plot more dangerous than anything they’ve encountered before…
nCan this group of aging secret agents unravel the mystery before it’s too late?
