She has ninety days to get engaged. Her worst enemy just bought eleven percent of her company. And her chaperone has a tracking app.

Isabella Alcantara has never lost a negotiation. At thirty-four she runs the largest shipping company in the Philippines: forty-one vessels, four thousand employees, and a family home in Forbes Park run by a mother who believes every problem can be solved with pearls, a priest and a proper chaperone.

Then her grandmother's will is read. Unless all five Alcantara sisters are engaged by the night of the Golden Gala, control of the family empire passes to their scheming cousin Vicente.

That same night, Isabella learns that someone has been quietly buying up her company's shares. The buyer is Rafael Dizon, heir to the rival shipping line her family has been feuding with for decades. Before she can sue him, a typhoon hits Manila, and the two of them end up locked in a cargo container on Pier 9 until dawn, with Manang Ising shouting her mother's rules through the steel door.

By morning they are on every front page in the country. Rafael swears he is trying to save her company, not steal it. But a memo in his own handwriting says otherwise, there is a leak somewhere inside the Alcantara family, and the clock to the Gala is running out.

Between a mahjong showdown in Singapore, very bad poetry, a fake fiancé with a magnificent mustache and one extremely well-dressed goat, Isabella will have to decide whom to trust, and whether the man she has fought for twelve years is the partner she never knew she needed.

The Dowry of Storms is the first book in the Five Crowns of Alcantara series: a sparkling, big-hearted enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy about family, fortune and five sisters who refuse to be married off on anyone's terms but their own.
