Setting: Florence, Italy, primarily Helene Refenstahl's fashion house on Via Tornabuoni, the aristocratic residences of Florence, and Villa Peregallo in Calenzano.

Period: The 1930s, during Fascist Italy.

In the glamorous yet dangerous world of 1930s Florence, where aristocratic privilege, political influence, and forbidden passions intertwine, an exclusive fashion show becomes the setting for a disturbing murder.

Duke Alberto Balsamo and his wife, Duchess Ambra Balsamo, are attending a prestigious event at the luxurious fashion house of Helene Refenstahl. Wealthy, sophisticated, fiercely independent, and openly unconventional, the couple moves effortlessly through high society while secretly opposing the Fascist regime.

During the presentation, an elegant black evening gown adorned with feathers awakens an inexplicable sense of unease in Ambra. Moments later, Helene notices a mysterious stranger among the guests and abruptly withdraws to her private apartments. There, she discovers the lifeless body of Adriana, her trusted assistant and secret lover, strangled and carefully arranged upon a bed. Beside her lies a single black feather.

Commissioner Giovanni Boccomini begins investigating the crime, immediately recognizing that the peculiar arrangement of the body and the mysterious feather suggest something far more sinister than an ordinary murder.

As suspicion spreads through the fashionable establishment, long-buried secrets begin to emerge. Helene's troubled past in 1920s Germany, the unsettling presence of influential Fascist officials, and the suspicious connections between wealthy industrialists and international intermediaries suggest a dangerous network concealed beneath Florence's glittering social world.

Drawn into the investigation, Alberto and Ambra employ their intelligence, remarkable observational skills, influential connections, and talent for deception to uncover clues that others overlook.

Meanwhile, their passionate relationship and unconventional sexual freedom bring an explicitly erotic dimension to an atmosphere already charged with seduction, jealousy, forbidden relationships, and dangerous attractions.

As the investigation deepens, the boundaries between innocence and guilt become increasingly uncertain. Every elegant gathering conceals possible enemies, every intimate relationship hides unspoken truths, and every discovery raises new questions.

What does the black feather truly signify? Who is the mysterious stranger who terrified Helene? And what forgotten events have returned to threaten the lives of those involved?

A sensual and suspenseful historical mystery in which murder, desire, political intrigue, and buried secrets collide, revealing a world where appearances deceive, passion can become dangerous, and the past never truly dies.
