Seven phantoms at the rail. A sail made of a burial shroud. And a terrifying, wordless dread that locks down a Cumbrian beach.

When a grieving family is driven away from the Solway Firth by an overwhelming sense of horror, novice exorcist Father Thomas Carrick is called to investigate. To navigate a mystery bleeding out of the area's dark history, he must team up with Connor 'Mac' McClymont... a data-driven ex-military investigator turned supernatural Warden.

As the tide rises, Mac's sensors detect a chilling pattern: a phantom 18th-century barge is materialising closer to the harbor mouth with every high water. Something is hunting along the coastline, escalating in frequency, and leaving an empty eighth space at its rail.

With time running out and a major local development about to disturb the estuary mud, Carrick and Mac must decode the entity's true purpose before the phantom vessel claims its final passenger.

The Solway Phantom Barge is a gripping, atmospheric folk-horror mystery from Simon McCall's acclaimed Mac Versus Monsters series. Perfect for fans of British folklore and paranormal suspense.
