This book has been intended to fill this gap in the field.</p><p>Among the Circassian intellectuals organized around Circassian Society of Solidarity (erkes Teavün Cemiyeti), founded in 1908 in Istanbul, a group was formed focusing on Mythology of Narts and Caucasian history. However, the outbreak of Balkan wars (1912-1913) and the World War I (1914-1918) affected negatively the studies of the Society. After the proclamation of the Turkish Republic, the association was closed and all its assets were confiscated. Along with the closure of Circassian Society of Solidarity, studies on mythology and history, as well as other subjects, came to an end. In terms of Circassian culture, the period from the proclamation of the Republic to 1950s is a dead period. In this period, studies related to Circassian culture, history and mythology shifted to Europe. Circassians of Turkey, who experienced a very weak and controlled association process after 1950, still have not reached the intellectual accumulation of the Circassian Society of Solidarity, which was founded in 1908. (Picture 1.)</p><p>In the first quarter of 20th Century, the studies of Met ünatiko Yusuf Izzet Pasha (1875-1922) on Greek Mythology and Circassian Mythology of Narts were followed by the studies of Mehmet Fetgeri Soenü (1890-1931) on Mythology of Narts with Avestic texts. After the 30s, Aytek Namitok (1892-1963) discussed the subject again.</p><p>Historical relations of Circassians with Ottoman Capital paved the way for an intellectual group based in Istanbul to come to the fore after the Second Constitutional Monarchy.
