Unfortunately for him, Orlovs mistress, the gorgeous and famous actress Irena Sorokin witnesses their verbal confrontation and the murder. However, instead of turning Maxim in, she helps him make the killing appear a heroic act he committed for Russia. Because of that, Maxim becomes a national hero and eventually the President of Russia.And, that is the beginning of this third novel, TSARINA. In TSARINA, we find that Irena has an insatiable lust for power and will not hesitate to go to any extremes, sex, mass murder, and even seducing the US President, to achieve it. And Maxim, whom she supported and married, becomes just a stepping stone in her personal quest for leadership of the New Soviet Union.
