On Halloween night, Chris heads out trick-or-treating for the very first time without a grown-up, dressed as a little green dragon, while far away in Monster World, a tiny pumpkin monster named Peter gets ready to give the greatest scare ever. But Peter is only as tall as a cat, his roar comes out as a squeak, and the bigger monsters just laugh at him. When Peter sneaks into Chris’s bedroom at midnight and leaps out with his biggest BOO, he gets giggles instead of screams. Instead of sending him away, Chris decides to help, and the two new friends step through a magic portal in search of a fountain that is said to make any monster big.

A warm, funny Halloween bedtime story for children ages 3–8 about friendship, kindness, and being yourself. Not scary at all, and perfect for reading aloud or listening together on Halloween night.

About the Unscary Pumpkin Monster series

In Monster World, every monster is supposed to be scary, except Peter the Pumpkin, who is far too small to frighten anyone. With the help of a brave human friend in a dragon costume, Peter sets off on magical adventures through Monster World, discovering that even monsters aren’t always as scary as they seem.
